5 Mile TT 27-03-2013

The racing season got under way on Wednesday night, once the snow had cleared off course thirteen brave souls took part in the 5 mile TT on a very cold night. It was Alistair Meikle  who came home in first place with a fast 12min 42 followed closely by Tom Ferguson 12min 54 and Jim Stark in 12min 58 completing the top three.

Next Wed 3rd is a 10 Time Trial at Abbotsford. Saturday 6th there is an Audax  with a complete distance of 200km titled More passes than Mastermind it promises some tough climbs and stunning scenery around quite country roads. Please check with the organiser that the event will run as planned, the club sadly had to cancel the Gordon Arms Mountain TT due to the higher passes being blocked with deep snow still. Top riders from all over the UK were due to race over the challenging course but the deep heavy snow still blocks the road over the Swire the organisers had no choice but to cancel the event this year.
